The ISR 2008 journal will provide a unique opportunity for the academic and industrial community to address new challenges, share solutions and discuss future research directions. A broad range of topics is proposed, following current trends of combining control/systems theory with software/communication technologies, as well as new developments in robotics and mechatronics combined with intelligent systems research, with the goal of strengthening cooperation of scientists and students with industry.
